Is there a resource that will tell me which realtors have sold the most houses in my neighborhood recently?
I know that there is a lot more than needs to be considered in choosing an agent (and I'm not interested in discussing that here), I would just like this statistic. It would also be helpful to know how many listing they dealt with.
Thanks in advance for any help.
(Location western suburbs of Chicago)

No. There is not a resource that does that. Your best bet is to go on Zillow and see which agents post their transactions on there. They plot them by map so it would be easy to zoom into your neighborhood.

I was going to ask the same thing. We're thinking of selling in 6 months or so, but I have no idea how you find out who is a top agent for a particular area. I want someone familiar with our location, and that has sold some homes recently. Not sure either how to find that out.

Drive your neighborhood and look at the agent's name on the For Sale sign. But then ask them for personal statistics on sold listings since many agents list but don't sell because they get business by telling sellers their house is worth way more than it really is.

good suggestion nina

also go on the websites of the names you see on present real estate signs
the individual websites of brokers may tell you some info

often it might be a "team" and you need to request that broker up front , don't be shy in doing this

You could also ask your neighbors for referrals or contact the head of your HOA to see if they know who the top agent might be for the neighborhood.

Here they belong to the Fla Realtor assoc, and they spend a lot of time and money with xillion awards because my sister is one and is always bragging on her achievements, trophies etc. So call the one in your state.
