In 2011, Rowe, 53, put a bid on a house in the posh Carmel Valley neighborhood. But when she found out she had been outbid, she sought revenge through what she said were just pranks.
“It felt like the house I always wanted to own, I just felt comfortable,” Rowe said. “And when I found out we didn’t get it, it was devastating. It was heartbreaking.”
Those winning homebuyers were Janice Ruhter and Jerry Rice, a married couple with a young child and a new baby on the way, who had dumped their life savings into what they thought would be their dream home.
But shortly after moving in, Ruhter and Rice said strange things started happening. They received $1,000 worth of bills for adult diapers and magazines subscriptions they said they never ordered. They found their house re-listed for sale online, and buyers started showing up in their yard. There was an online ad for a New Year’s Eve party at their house that they said they never planned.

Woman Sentenced for Tormenting Couple Says She Was 'Devastated' Over Losing Bidding War - ABC News
Crazy story.
I think I would end up selling and moving in the end, I would feel like all of my experiences in that house were tainted, even aside from safety concerns.

Seriously, what a nut job. Someone could easily have gotten shot or beat up as a direct result of her antics. I think its absurd that she isn't in jail, and you would almost feel less secure in the home than if you were broken into. At least a break in isn't personal, merely someone looking to take your stuff. She says "I didn't intend to harm them" but posting up ads for free hanky panky on the internet and sending other wive's valentines is just asking for it.

She should be in jail. She's clearly a liar or delusional. Not sure which but both are dangerous.

And it's just an upscale soulless tract neighborhood where you just have to go down the street a little ways to find an identical model house to the one that you were outbid on. Sheesh!

Is that the crazy whacko that put a CL ad posing as the other lady homeowner telling guys to come over because she wanted to get raped?

Yes, it is. There was a story on 20/20 last night all about this. This lady was nuts, what she did to those people is unbelievable. Her defense was sleep deprivation due to taking care of a disabled child.

With some of the crazy posts we see here, I wouldn't be surprised if she was ever on CD.

While I do not want to trivialize what happened, the house from all appearances looks like your run-of-the-mill cookie cutter tract home where you could find a virtually identical one down the street, probably multiple times. Nice house, but hardly unique.

Seriously, if the family wants to sell, do they need to disclose "crazy person attached to house"? Imagine how it would sink their home value. What a horrible position for this poor family to be in.

I saw this on 20/20 and I must ask how in the blue blazes did she get off so lightly ? I think it was because the judge did not want another child on the welfare system and who would take care of her daughter and husband if she were locked up . But karma im sure will get a hold of that nut job .
