Why owners' divorce is a deal-breaker?
Why you don't want to actually see people who live in the house? If I looked better at my seller (she was present) I would probably reconsider the purchase or negotiate harder. (I was an unexperienced buyer in the US at this time). Once, I avoided a BIG BIG mistake due to the owners' presence (they managed to be simpleminded people and I was able to derive from them that one of the residents was legally incompetent, so under the rules of this another country I would not be able to remove him from the property w/o going thru the trial)
As a buyer, you are looking for information. A current owner is a living talking carrier of information, why avoid him?
I don't see what the big deal is. I was looking at units in the $200K to 300K range and at least a third of the units had a seller's agent, owner or tenant there at the showing.
In fact most of the time the nicer unit had people living in them vs the so-so units being empty.
