Pee outside in it.... It's truly refreshing especially first thing in the morning. Depending on your yard's size and location this may or may not be a good idea. Try it sometime.

If you do it right you'll also be marking your territory.

You can put in seating areas with a smallish umbrella table and chairs. Someone else said trees. A yard entirely of lawn/grass is, in my opinion, boring so you can plant accent type flower beds.

Get a good garden design book and look through it for ideas.

You hire a landscape company if you do not care to garden. Then you build a little walking path for refreshing strolls where you marvel at the beautiful shrubery and flowers. Or you plant and pick tomatoes for your dinner. Or you get a dog and have a place for him to romp. Or you plant grass, hire a mower, and never go outside. Or you build a patio and a spa or pool. Or you become a hoarder and build shed after shed after shed.

I yearn to have an inground pool, but my husband won't have it. =(

So instead we have a lawn we have to mow every 7-10 days. Our dogs are the only ones that hang out in the yard.

What an astonishing question! Have you never heard of garden parties?

Haha, I actually knew someone who did this on the boundries of his garden. Claimed it kept away critters.
