I see stainless appliances and manufactured wood floors lasting a while, especially with newer styles coming out all the time. but not white painted cabinets and grey colored paints.
A manufactured wood floor is a price point issue.

Not necessarily. In my area, even high-end homes have engineered wood flooring b/c MOST homes are built on concrete slab foundations and you can't use the nail-down, solid, site-finished wood directly on slab. Houses that are built on crawlspace or basement foundations can have site-finished "real" wood flooring, but those foundation types are not the most common where I live.

I was very disappointed when I found out there were literally NO non-slab homesites available where we wanted to build. I grew up & have always lived on crawlspace foundations with solid wood flooring until moving here. But it's a soil & water table issue here , so slab it is. At least the higher end homes do a raised slab, so it's not smack flat on the ground. I really dislike that look.

Sorry to ramble, but just wanted to clarify....no, it's NOT always a price point issue. Lots of people, like me, love wood floors but solid wood isn't an option on concrete. Luckily, the prefinished/engineered hardwood has improved a lot over the years.
