I need a couple of guys to help move some heavy stuff on an upcoming move...any ideas on the most economical way? I don't want to just go on craigslist or something because I need something dependable.

When we moved last year, we used a small group of guys we found through HireAHelper. IIRC, you tell them how many people you think you need, estimate the things needed to move and how many hours you want them. You pay up front so there are no surprises at the end. Obviously the caliber of service you receive will depend on who you pick, but you can see reviews and make your best choice.

@OnlyWhnChasd is right! (I might be a little biased, I work for HireAHelper) but you're wise @Truth11 to want to hire some move help you can trust - even if it's not through our site, I don't mind as long as you find some help that'll work hard and respect your stuff.

Make sure you get quotes from a few places and read reviews before you hire. The way you're planning your move (hiring some strong guys to do the heavy lifting) is becoming a pretty popular way to move as the big full service moving companies get more expensive. It even has it's own name, "hybrid moving" - do a Google search for "what is hybrid moving?" and you'll see our guide.

I hope your move goes well! Feel free to ping me with any questions along the way.

I originally contacted Penske,which is the company I'm using for the move and they referred me to the help they use. I then researched other companies and decided that HireAHelper from UHaul seemed to have better rates,I have them scheduled for the move next week...I hope they show;

I think you can get labor to load and unload for as low as $60.00 per hour
