This morning I locked my car and house keys in my house. I called my seller's agent because she is the only other person with a key to my house and politely asked her if she could please, please come over and unlock my front door. Within 15 minutes my seller's agent was at my house key in hand. I know she went above and beyond her duties to do this for me. I'm very grateful to her for helping me this morning.

What has your seller or buyer's agent done for you that goes above and beyond their scope of work?

Thank you for that! I for one am so sick of all the bashing going on. I'd love to get my clients to post on here but then I wouldn't be able to ask stupid questions when I need to.

Thanks again, rep points for you!

Hehe, I've had to do that at 8 pm at night, but fortunately the listing was only about a mile from my house.

A client of mine had closed escrow in November. In December he was going away for a month and I had referred a landscaper to take over doing his yard.
The home is across the lake from me.

The client asked if I would accept a key to his home so I can get in if the need arises; and a key to his gate to go and check on his yard to make sure the landscapers were doing the job they were supposed to in their initial clean up. The landscapers also had a key to the yard.

So I was over there three times during the month to make sure the landscapers did all the work they were supposed to do.

Two years ago I got a call from one of my listing clients who said her neighbor was locked out of her own home (across the street) and would I go into her home to get the neighbor's key from her desk drawer. I did since it was only about 10 minutes away. Six months later that neighbor called me up to list her house Just paying it forward I guess

My realtor went above and beyond a few times for us when we were selling our condo. She is an absolute gem. For instance, before a showing while we were at work ( we slacked for a minute) she went over to our place, straightened up, made the bed and did a few dishes. Thats one reason why she is also our buying agent for the townhouse we are purchasing

My last residential closing was a house that came complete with a koi pond and several fish. Buyers, my clients, were 5,000 miles away when the house closed. It will be a rental for two years before they move in.

Someone had to feed those fish until they made arrangements with the property management company. Lucky for me, the house, about 30 minutes from my Hilo home, is in Volcano Village, so my SO and I combined a couple of trips up that way with dinner at restaurants we seldom go to.

(Buyer's reported later that the several of the fish were stolen around New Years Day--they suspect that some neighbor was aware that no one was living in the house and they were concerned that the fish were abandoned. Tenant moves in this month, so no one was too concerned...)
