Yeah, I'm pretty sure the house I bought had Glade Plug Ins when I viewed it and after I moved in, I did notice that the kitchen had an odor. Nothing terrible and I think it's gone now unless I just don't notice it anymore. I personally like air freshener scents in a house as long as they aren't too overpowering, but I don't use them on a regular basis.

You're lucky! No, it's not like I can control it. Trust me it's ruined things I've really wanted to do, like a meal out and the patron next to me showered in perfume I react to, or playing games at a friends place and I can't stay because that plug in makes my head burn.

It's not every fragrance either. some I can say "that smells nice" others, while I don't think smell nice they smell fake and cheap, don't trigger this, others all I smell is "burning" no matter what the actual scent is. I start to feel a burning sensation between my eyes in my sinus area. Migraine that comes makes me sensitive to every smell in my vicinity, light, and sound. Too much/not leaving fast enough the migraine can get severe enough that I can't stop vomiting for a few hours. It's horrible.

My mom works a lot so doesn't have all the time in the world to clean, to be nice I aired out the place while she was at work and got the rest of us kids to pitch in and deep spring clean for her as a surprise. I used vinegar to clean and my mother hates that smell, so between airing out I wanted to be sure she couldn't smell it by the time she was home.

I made a homemade air freshener. I got in such trouble though as she walked in and thought the place smelled AMAZING and cried when she realized it wasn't a homemade pie that caused it. "the places smells great but you are a jerk and now I want pie!" It was water, Cinnamon, citrus zest, clove and vanilla summering on the stove. It will "scent" up an entire house too.

What is the general consensus on having a handful of family pictures on the wall? I don't have a ton, maybe 7-10 between 2 walls. It's just annoying to me to have to take down my pictures. I mean, I still live here.

Also having Glade Plugins to freshen up the smell. Obviously they wouldn't be visible and I'm not trying to mask a bad smell. Just trying to make the house smell nice and inviting.
1} I have severe asthma and breathing problems, and require O2 at night. I would reject out of hand and walk back out of your house if I walked into the glade scent maker thingy {and while looking for our house, I DID that}. Be aware there are those who ARE scent sensitive, or have things like asthma, which a strong {or even mild} scent can trigger a major hospitalization-required attack!!

If you want to make a scent, bake cookies or an apple in the oven prior to showings. If you HAVE smells that need to be covered up, you have bigger problems!

2} NO pictures is best...you CAN do without them a few days/weeks/months, after all, if you are selling, you WONT be living there anymore. YOu want people {buyers} to imagine THEIR possessions there, not YOURS. Remember, AS soon as you list it, it is effectively NO LONGER YOURS.

Best of luck for a great offer.

Strong scents trigger head aches for me, especially strong over the top floral scents. I would rather switch agents than deal isn't constant headaches from people trying to cover up dog odor (unsuccessfully, usually) with lots of air freshener.
