I heard somewhere that Canadians that own properties in Florida and other states are trying to sell impending The President Trump anybody else can agree I am mostly interested in FL treasure coast mainly Vero Bech, if they are gone more power to me, nothing personal just business
The Canadians I've talked with this past winter never mentioned Trump or the election. They did, however, cite the value of their dollar vs. ours when they explained why they were selling.

That's funny. All I've heard about is Americans getting ready to flee to Canada.

That's been my experience with Canadians. I never hear them talking about the election. And we have a lot of Canadians where we have our winter home in Arizona.
Here in Toronto, here are dozens of daily ads for properties for sale in Florida, Texas, and Arizona.
NONE of them mention the US political situation.......They are either an estate sale ( some body died ) or they are not interested in going there, any more. The crime rate in the USA figures into that sentiment for sure.
The current exchange rate is ....One US dollar equals $1.33 Canadian. So selling a $40 thousand US property means about $52,000 Canadian.
I've had several Canadian clients sell their Florida properties in the last six months because of the huge gains in currency discrepancy. Since the summer of 2014 the Loonie went from $.94 to the US$ to as low as $.68 this January. As one of them said to me, "even though I love my place I would be a fool to leave that much money on the table". His Florida property was worth almost $200,000 more Canadian dollars in January 2016 than in July 2014 just in exchange rate difference, not even factoring in the appreciation during that time which was substantial.

My parents used to own a place in California, as did my grandparents. Both my grandfather and my father told me " never bring up politics when you aren't on home turf".
I think it was a consideration as to not appear meddling in affairs that aren't you own.
My snowbird Canadian neighbor is very concerned about Trump becoming our president. But she bought her condo when the market was crashing so I doubt she will be selling it any time soon.
Personally, if I owned property in FL, I'd be a lot more concerned about sea level rise than who gets elected in Nov (but, lordy I hope it isn't The Donald -- he makes RMN look downright presidential).
