Same here...as a seller, that'd be a HARD no.

It's not a party. An open house is a necessary evil. Come in, look around, buy it or don't buy it, and get the heck out.

I am waiting for an agent here in Denver to offer "special" brownies.

pot brownies would probably sell the house faster seriously.
But then they'd probably sue claiming they weren't in the right frame of mind.

I have helped realtor friends who are looking for the atmosphere of the home and a spot to feel peaceful and feel like taking a breath amid the rush from house to house. Say, a warm cider with a cinnamon stick in autumn, good lemonade in the summer. Bottled water buyers can carry from home to home. Elegant containers/plates or historic or country as the home dictates, pretty napkins. Nothing in anyway elaborate which can take from the peace. Mostly done in the kitchen area. Generally well received with a relaxed sigh.

But the add oh come on is showing....looks more like an add a caterer might send to interested realtors advertising her selection of services.

I vote no there are dozen of priority that would come before having food at an open house. Price the house right, clean it up, fix somethings if needed, good lighting ect, good pictures on the MLS and other sites.

It is very common here for brokers open houses but not for the general public.

However, brokers opens are also open for anyone but they are usually on the weekday between 11-3.
