I signed up with redweek to sell my Virginia mountain area timeshare. How long does it usually take to sell? How much of a loss should I expect?

Ok I received an email from my sales person saying I'd take a $10,000 loss. My thing is that I can't afford to use the darn thing and I have a $400 maintenance fee annually. Is there anything I can do?

If your timeshare is paid for and you can rent it for $400 or more, why sell it?

Another way to unload is to give it to a charity organization that will take it and they can have a raffle and give it to the person who wins. I am not a tax expert so you would need to check on how much you could get off your taxes as a donation.

My In Laws tried to sell their Time Share for years. They hired many different fleecers who took thousands of their dollars.
They passed away and the heirs inherited that ALBATROSS.
After pleading hardship and threatening a lawsuit the original sellers agreed to take it back.

We were very lucky. Good luck!

I was at the Denver Garden & Home Show last Sunday.
Happened upon a booth for legal time share relief (or something similar).
The guy in the booth said business was great!
I had no idea there was a market for this.

If there is an upfront fee you can expect over 100% loss. Most timeshares you can't even give away, and they won't accept them as a donation. $400 a year maintenance is not bad, most charge $1000 a year. They are always a bad idea and a huge loss.

Timeshares are for suckers. Unless you find another sucker to buy it, I would expect a total loss. Many people cant even sell them for $1 dollar.

Worthy of re-posting and very true.
That 2nd sentence should be put in bold..........'They hired many different fleecers who took thousands of their dollars "
