Mine go open as soon as the temp goes over 60 and stay open until the heat goes on. I have to close the windows then because my heat is paid for and I'll get yelled at if I don't close them.
But for other people, they want sometimes an all-the-way pull. Something in the middle is just obstructive,
You must never have used topdown bottomup blinds. You can compress the blinds and place ithe bundle wherever you want, including at the very top of the window or at the very bottom, or any place in between. And in any degree of expansion or compression.
I am a new homeowner and purchased a home with five windows that are over six feet tall. The part that opens is a small section at the very bottom. I had curtains but if I wanted the windows open then all of the curtains had to be open letting the hot morning sun in and heating up the room quite a bit. At night everyone could see my business. Top down bottom up blinds were the perfect solution. I had to settle for the manual version because the quote for motorized top down bottom up blinds for five six foot windows was a huge shock.....price of a decent used car!
Mine go both way & I use them both ways depending on what I want at the time. I also have several remote controlled ones, love them, they are expensive, but a life saver for a couple of hard to reach windows, like those giant ones that builders insist on putting over top your giant tub in the bathroom.

I have not. This is great news to me. Thanks!
