I don't know about the best but the worst would be being offered a 1 bedroom flat which was very muddy and dirty for £900 , not worthy it in the slightest.

Worst: A house my wife didn't like at all.

Best: A house she loved.

Money being somewhat secondary.

The house I own I bought at estate auction for $120k October 2016 and its worth probably $175k now. Bigger than most of the new constructions nearby which tend to be around 1050 square feet on each level with 22x22 garages and no finished basements and sell for $170k. Mine was built in 1977.

On another note, my fathers house he bought in Grafton with in 1989 for $90k is worth around $260k right now. Of course he probably put $50k into it over the years.
