I might end up moving. What am I suppose to do to stop receiving mail to this address? And what if I don't know what my new address will be until I move?

Rent a po box at a ups store in a convenient location, & get your mail forwarded there.

You can stop in online and ask the USPS to hold it for sometimes up to 30 days:

You can also do temporary fwding to a friend's or relatives address, or even your work address. Then do a permanent COA when you have settled down.

USPS will forward mail to your new address for 12 months but it's up to you to contact everyone you receive (or want to receive mail) from and notify them of your change of address. Anyone you receive bills, magazines, etc. from. Obviously, you don't have to be concerned with junk mail.

Make a list of everything you receive (minus junk mail), and then start notifying those places as soon as you have your permanent address. Some changes of address can be done online, or on the back of payment slips, or you may have to call some places.

The forwarding feature USPS offers will act as a safety net for anything you might not think of at the time - like mail you might only receive periodically instead of monthly. The process can be a PITA but everyone who has ever moved has done this same thing.

Go to the PO...they have a package when you request the permanent COA (Change of Address)....one bonus....there are coupons in it for some great discounts at stores.

Put a temporary 30 day hold in place (you can do this online) and once you have a permanent address you can do a mail forward request and have all that mail delivered to your new place, and all mail going forward. Then online update your address with any individual companies with whom you do business (i.e. credit cards, car insurance, car payments, cell phone, etc.) and wish to still receive mail.

What time period are we talking? Are you moving into a new place or within 30 days or will you be without a new place for longer than 30 days?

If it's a typical move and find a place right after, all you do is what the others suggest. You place a 30 day hold on delivery and when you get a new place do a permanent change of address with the post office. That will also give you time to contact everyone with your new address. Not a big or complicated deal; done by thousands every week.
