We put our house on the market last summer. I was laid off and took the time to declutter etc. However, our realtor was horrible ; never called me, showed it twice in 3 months. Then when I decided to stay for another 6 months, and take it off the market, she asked me to pay for the advertising. Everything was awful and not her fault ; her secretary quit so the sign didn't go up for 3 weeks, there was a typo in the advertising and she scolded me for not proofing it better, It took her two weeks to take off the lockbox.
It is going back on the market soon with a different realtor and hope it sells as we are downsizing. Our son is graduating high school in June so we have no need to stay here and we have another home to go to.
There are a few listings near us that are FSBO and grossly overpriced. I've seen them on zillow for almost a year. Maybe people don't need to move but will if someone will overpay for their house.
