I just went to the weirdest open house. There's a house for sale around the corner from me that I thought I would check out. There is only one picture on the listing of the outside, nothing of the inside. I like to see what others in my neighborhood have done to update their houses and get ideas for mine.
Anyway, the open house was today, a Thursday, from 12:30 - 1:30. That in itself is odd as it's the middle of the workday. I decided to stop by on my way back to work after lunch and got there about 12:45. There was someone outside who told me the open house is over and that the Realtor, or maybe the Realtor's assistant, left a few minutes earlier saying "No one else is going to show up."
I guess they don't really want to sell that house. Although I have noticed that listings from this particular agency tend to stay on the market a long time.

You were not interested in buying the house. They may have had an invitee list. Why does this matter?
I just thought it was odd that they said it was over 10 minutes after it started. And I'm interested because I like seeing what other people with similar houses to mine have done with them. It gives me ideas, although my husband thinks I already have enough ideas.
It could have been for realtors only, but it was listed as if anyone could stop by. Anyway, just kind of odd.
You're right.... it's very odd to advertise an open house and then not hold it open!
I wish we were all good at what we do! I really do.
