Unique reason for moving: psychopath next door neighbor. She was abusing our children. When confronted, she promised to ruin the family. She accused the father of three he was stalking her. Police went into stupor. The facts weren't there. A restraining order prevented the family from being together. Under dark of night the family left behind a warm, inviting home to escape the preposterous accusations
Unbelievable loss

I am looking to sell now to avoid further housing bottom. I hear some say it could be another 8-10 years before we have a housing recovery. I would be losing around 30k if I do so. I don't anyone really has a good answer to when things will get better. I am thinking buying a lower priced home to feel secure and possibly rent.

Also I would like to relocate to where there are lots of young neighborhood kids playing outside. Where we live now are mostly retired people who only like to peep and stare out their windows. Plus looking for a better school. Is this a good enough reason to move in today's market?

I always thought when you marry, you marry a family. It is wise to check out if you are compatible with his or her family. I did and that was 47 years ago. WE are still good. IF the family of either spouse is a problem, the children will suffer. They get deprived of a normal grandparent relationship. Family means a lot and in the end it is the family that will go the extra mile in case of emergencies.

None of the above. Buying different (not up or down) in the same area WHEN we decide to list, which may be soon.
