If you currently have your house on the market, or are preparing to put it on the market, could you tell us your reasons for doing so? This is an anonymous poll and will close in a week.

Also, if you are relocating to a new area, could you post telling us what state (or general area) you are moving to?

Repeat: this is an anonymous poll - so no tracking of who gave what answer.

I'm moving from Southwest Virginia near Wytheville to Charleston, SC. We are making the move for better year-round weather and more economic opportunities not only for my husband and myself but for our children (5 of them ages 6-13). Also looking forward to better cultural opportunities.

We are going back to NH where we came from - that's where the family is and we miss not seeing them more often.

This is very interesting! Seems most people are moving b/c of job relocation. Please keep posting!

Well, for us, our number one reason in relocating is family. Next, we are closing in on retirement so cost of living is a second factor. We are presently located in Mississippi - life long residents. We are "attempting" (I say this because of the present condition of the housing market) to sell and move to Springfield, Missouri.
