I live in Worcester, MA. It is a middle sized (190,000ish) city in central Massachusetts. Condo prices are a big range depending on the neighborhood. A one bedroom in a trendy neighborhood seems to be selling around $200,000.

Default 1/1 Prices Brevard County FL

In Brevard County, Florida the 1/1 condos range from $45,000 to $299,000.00

The $45,000.00 condo is in Titusville and the complex has a pool and a lake. It looks dated
The $299,000.00 condo is in Cocoa Beach. It is ocean front with an amazing view and kitchen has been remodeled. The bath looks original but not dated. The complex has a pool

We have everything in between the two also.

condos= apartments that are run by property groups with by laws....
You must have never been in a nice condo. Mine is anything but an apartment, and is run by us, the residents. Gheez.

Thanks everyone for your replies. It's very interesting.

Now, to answer Sand&Salt regarding prices in Israel: it really depends where, but generally real estate prices are through the roof. Especially when compared to the salaries, which tend to be low. There is a bubble here; prices have doubled (and in some cases tripled) over the past 12 years or so. But there are signs that the bubble might be about to end. In 2018, prices have actually decreased by 2,3%.

In Jerusalem, 1.2 million shekels (about $335,000) will buy you a 2-bedroom in ok condition in far-flung neighborhood like Gilo or Pisgat Zeev. Rooms are smaller here than in the US, so you can expect about 800 square feet, give or take.

In the cities around Tel Aviv, 1.5 million shekels (about $420,000) will buy you a 3-bedroom in ok condition; by "ok condition", I mean that the building won't be dilapidated, but it won't be new either. For that price you can expect around 900-1000 square feet.

Tel Aviv itself is a market on its own, and it's very expensive.
On the opposite end: the North and South of the country are much more affordable. The 1.5 million shekels mentioned above can actually buy you a smaller house with a small garden in Ashkelon. 800,000 shekels ($225,000) can buy you a 1 or even a small 2-bedroom in this city. In the center of the country (Tel Aviv greater area), a house is actually a luxury that only well-off people can afford. The further you go from the center of the country, the cheaper it gets... but there are less jobs and opportunities in these areas, too. In Mizpe Ramon, 500,000 shekels ($140,000) will buy you a 2 or 3-bedroom in an older building, but there is a reason for that: it's in the middle of nowhere.

Another detail, but an important one: in Israel there are hardly any "ghettos", or places that are so dangerous that you would not even consider living in them for safety reasons. For example, in the city I live in (150,000 inhabitants), there is a neighborhood that is poorer - but it's not crime-ridden or dangerous. I wouldn't have any issue walking through it during the day, or when it is dark.

A condo is only an apartment that is owned instead of rented, basically.

I know there can be huge differences depending on the neighborhoods, so it would be interesting to have the full range: how much does it cost in a nice area... and how much in the worst parts of town.

If you're in a mood to elaborate and give details about the neighborhoods, please feel free.
Raleigh, NC

New construction, lots of amenities ~$200k
Budget buy ~$120k

Out my way, condos and apartments are quite different. Apartments are smaller, have cheap appliances, only one bathroom, and thin walls. Parking is first come, first served, either in a small uncovered lot or on the street.

Condos are much bigger, have significantly better soundproofing, have nice appliances and finishes, and usually have specified parking areas in a garage or otherwise covered/secured area.

No one-bedroom condos in my city at all. I saw one in a nearby area listed for $80K. Kind of a "meh" neighborhood, though. In another nearby town, the two-bedroom condos are between $130,000 and $180,000.
