I’m in the due diligence period on a home, the home is about 3 years old in a subdivision with other homes.
The lot originally had more slope, and it’s been filled in to make it flatter, resulting in a steeper drop off at the back property line. Is there some way to evaluate the stability of the lot?
There’s nothing wrong to my eye and I have access to all the construction permits online. Just covering my bases.
Are you talking about the stability of the foundation or worried about losing your back yard into the street behind you?
May be unfounded as there were soil compaction permits when the house was built, but just wondering if I should be concerned about the house VERY slowly tilting if the fill material settles, erodes, other. May be nothing, just unfamiliar to me. And everything looks fine to eye after 3 years.
