Hello. Me and the wife live in NY and visit FL 3-4 times a year. Looking to buy 2nd home or townhome anywhere from deerfield besch to hollywood. Looking for 2br near near the beach...maybe withing 2 miles. Looking for something under $300k if possible. Any advice on area or anything else would be appreciated? Thank you.

Have you found the experienced RE agent you trust yet?
How about the local RE oriented attorney you'll need?

This forum is about real estate related matters not so much specific areas and the properties in them I suggest you try to post in the //www.city-data.com/forum/fort-lauderdale-area/

I used to live in that area. I know the closer you are to Federal highway (Rt 1) the better. The most expensive places are on the beach side of the inter coastal. If you want to be closest to the beach the Fort Luaderdale beach and Lauderdale by the sea are the most expensive. The furthest parts like Deerfield Beach and Dania Beach would be the lower priced areas. I don't think you would have an issue under $300K.
