We've been waiting for 6 months now to put our house on the market....I was thinking mid-march or early April would be the best time....

Now with this Corona virus thing, I just wonder if it would be best to wait a bit...

Thoughts?

If you wait, what is the benefit, the number of confirmed people with the virus will most likely increase before it gets better.

List the house and have your realtor post it on Zillow as “coming soon” with some professional photos and it might just sell sooner than you ever thought!

Advertise that the house includes a stocked household pantry full of Purell, disinfectants, wipes, toilet paper, masks, gloves, etc. and you might be surprised how much interest you'll get.

Obviously, it depends on the market. Are you selling with an agent? If so, I'd talk to them.

I just listed my house yesterday. I had two showings and one offer. My agent told me to leave town this weekend for anticipated showings.

I had my house listed last July. I had 20 showings and no offers.

FWIW, I'm in Maryland where they just shut down all public schools for 2 weeks. So who knows?

Planning on selling FSBO......

A very hot market here in SoCal with almost no inventory in our area (5 houses).......

Guess I'll wait and see what happens over the next couple weeks, no big hurry on our part, I'd just hoped to catch the beginning of spring when the market gets hot....

Of course, nobody could have predicted worldwide effect of Covid-19 just a few months ago. Nobody can accurately predict when the best time to list a home for sale, especially as Real Estate has always been local and not the same everywhere.

If he/she can find this stuff. I was at Target today and all of it's sold out.

Wait until rates of new Covid19 infections die down.

Somewhere like Texas or North Dakota would probably be a bad market right now, not only due to the virus, but also the Russia/Saudi dispute.
