Fannie and Freddie have issued their directives. The news is better than expected for the consumer. You need to look up to see who owns your mortgage.
NOW, just because this has been announced, your lender may not have a process in place. Please give your lender some time (remember, they are working remote and mortgages are not late until the 15th).
First, know who owns your mortgage. THEN, wait about 10 days for your mortgage company to have an action plan

What is certain, only those that do not make payments without contacting their lender could suffer consequences. Be patient and do it the right way.
For those of you that have jumbo loans or portfolio loans, go directly to your lender. Chances are they will mirror the agencies, but it is too soon to call.
If you have a VA, FHA, USDA or State bond loan,I would expect similar, but since being out of government transaction. I don't keep as up to date.
Good luck out there.
