Even with just my wife and I, we always bought with an eye on resale value. We averaged a move every 5 years until we retired.

Why did you move so often? That seems exhausting

Is this a RE question, really?

Better job offers with all moving expenses paid by the companies. Social climbing. Downsizing. Retirement. Last move was 10 years ago at age 68. Wife died 5 years ago. I do not anticipate another move for me unless in a pine box...........

I don't know why builders do it, and I find it amusing that builders price the tiny 3/2s similarly to ones that are sized more appropriately. One would think that any savvy buyer would look at the BD/BA numbers AND square footage together.

I'd been looking at all those things in a hot market for over 2 years, and this was the best option I could find. And my post-reno 2/1 works fine for me.

Some have said they would prefer 2BR/2BA over a 3BR/1BA or 3BR/1.5BA

So, if you had kids, you would put them in a bunk bed before dealing with 1 bathroom.

I assume people don't want 1 bath since others will need to smell your stunk up poo scent.
Understandable.

But, posters have also said that 1.5 bath is just as bad a 1 bath. So, it's not about hiding your poo smell from others.

Is this due to timing of showers? 4 people need consecutive showers which can lead to morning scheduling conflicts.

What is the conventional wisdom regarding homes with 1BA vs. 1.5BA vs. 2BA ?
Who has ever said that? I’d love to hear the logic behind 1.5 being just as bad as 1?

I’ve lived in every situation from 1 to 2.5 throughout my life, and yeah the more the merrier, but as long as you have 1.5 you’re good to go.

Actually when looking at the world as a whole we all should be thankful we have at least 1.
