What's up with this?
Trying to buy property, reached out to 4 realtors so far and they wont return calls/emails.
Here's what's really, really weird...all of them responded immediately or within minutes of initial contact and were generally helpful and engaging. Then nothing. Even after repeated attempts.

Now I'm no pest, I email or leave a message, and after 2 or 3 days then I'm like wtf?
I kept conversations pro and to the point.
Nothing I said could possibly redflag me as a nutbar or pain in the ass. I just don't get it.
I know the market is bananas right now but there's no way they can be so busy that they can't return a call or email. It's bizarre and professionally unacceptable behavior.

These were all totally unaffiliated different companies, 2 were big name brand ones.
I just don't get it.
All I want to do is buy something.

Do you have a pre-approval? The few times I have bought, I contacted the Realtor's office and they assigned me an agent. Once the agent was repeatedly showing us properties that were not what we were looking for and we moved on to a different RE company.

Selling is also more lucrative than buying as you have to show lots of houses and only God knows if the deal will close when you find a property.

What was the gist of your conversation with them? Seems unlikely to be a coincidence with four different agents. Are you looking for a unicorn property?

Cannot justify it, but.....

Is the local market superheated in favor of sellers?
The agents may have plenty of buyers on board already and no product to help you with?

Is what you want to buy realistic for that market? I know I get calls by people all the time who don't remotely have the money to buy what they want.

Yeah I'm totally realistic and not pushy with crazy criteria and such.
One of them finally reached out, apologized profusely, so we kissed and made up and all is good. So far. Just chalked it up to being super busy. Market is bananas.

What do you mean you reached out to the realtors?

Did you send a request via Zillow, Realtor.com, or some other site? In those cases, you are probably not reaching the listing agent, but a random agent who happened to pay the site to be featured / listed in association with some properties in their area.

I don’t Zillow. Or any of those sites.
I go right to the source, the local agent website and either a phone call or email.
It's all good now.
I've bought and sold quite a few properties over the years and don't recall ever having the communication, or lack of, that I recently encountered. But whatever. Found someone, they return calls, seem competent, so all good.

Thanks. Me too. Especially with a relo.
The local agents are your potential neighbors and a snapshot of the community you are about to invest in, financially and personally.
