I'm keeping an eye on this market and the price piqued my interest.

Super nice house but come on.

At least the Metamucil container is color coordinated with the door.

To their credit, there aren’t 100 magnets on the refrigerator.

As they say, you gotta look past the “stuff.”

This actually looks like a lot of peoples real homes look.

Part of the problem here is the HDR photography that gives everything in the room the same level of high detail and shine. It’s not how your eye would naturally see these rooms. In real life this house would look like most peoples homes. Lived in.

You cannot focus your attention on any single selling point in that home because your eyes have nothing to focus on.

I would have rented a pod for this person and moved all that busy clutter into a pod for them.

No home I've ever lived has looked like that, Diana. Not even as a kid.

I get most people's homes don't look like a magazine shoot, but that house is the opposite end of the spectrum, IMO. I mean, half of the furniture pieces in the living room aren't even usable without moving other furniture pieces out of the way.

Not that bad although in person one will get to see or feel the amount of stuff. The angle and brightness make it look like less stuff. I've seen worse. At least the counter is clear and there are actual paths. Either lazy, old or incapacitated and just want to move. An estate?

Can you imagine dusting all that stuff?

Yes, this is exactly what I was going to say. Would it be nice if the house were decluttered more? Yes. But the photography is the biggest problem.

In general I don’t like HDR for real estate photos, but when you’ve got this much stuff going on in the room it’s much more problematic.

In addition to the HDR, many photos are taken from a rather low vantage point... one even capturing the view across the plane of the countertop, as if the cutting board is a nice feature. This highlights all of the “stuff” in the room.

The weird wide angle lenses RE agents use to make everything look bigger, also distort all angles.

That is a "full" house but not cluttered; certainly looks clean and orderly.

For selling, I would have removed about half the furniture and 90% of small decorative items, though.
