Yeah I was in NJ one year where the school requested a budget with an 8% increase, the voters rejected it so it went to the town board where it was trimmed to a 7% increase and passed without a vote- not every town requires a vote on the second budget. It's nuts.

personally I dont think so. but sometimes these high taxes come with good schools so its honestly up to you, and your situation.

Does your state offer different tax rates to owner occupants vs non-owner occupants? I think most states do. Here if taxes on a property are much higher that others around it, it's usually the non-owner occupant rate.
