I would just like to take a quick poll here of all the “non-real estate professionals” who are also probably homeowners. (I would hope? Otherwise what are you doing replying to this thread?) Please just respond with a simple yes or no: when you bought your current home, did you negotiate a credit for any inspection items, or require the seller to fix them? Just yes or no. No need to get verbose.
