Lightbulb Should you get the ducts cleaned? Probably. Should the seller cover it? probably not.

I agree, many of the vendors in that space are spammy.

Given the stuff I have found in the return-air ducts of an older (1940s era) house, if the house is more than a few decadeso old or if it was occupied by smokers or pet owners, would be prudent to go ahead and budget for a cleaning, and work it into your move planning (easier to clean if you have clear access to the grilles).

You can ask but as a seller I wouldn’t do it. Spend the money yourself, it isn’t much.
