Yup, all the more so if it were a gas stove as many microwaves have minimum distances to be above the cooking surface if the cook top uses gas and is above a certain number of BTU's.

They are nothing, they are just gaps. You can either like it, be indifferent to it, tolerate it, or hate it, either way, it is a cosmetic issue, nothing more.
