not much , i live in southern California Ventura county. Home prices are really expensive. When I lived in the Santa Monica Mountains I have known people that have bought a piece of land and parked a trailer on it. Im not really sure what 400,000 could get you for a condo but I'm assuming not much in California.

Woodlands to me would be more similar to Mission Viejo, Aliso, Laguna Niguel, at least in populace

Just purchased my new home in Humble for right at $400k, 2817 sqft, 4b, 3 1/2 ba, study....got everything I wanted with it.

The Houston area is definitely the place to be for a great house for the money. I'm thoroughly satisfied.

That's about as good as it gets for $400k in an urban setting, although you have to deal with footsteps above you and restaurant sounds and smells below. It's an Italian restaurant so the smells are probably not too strong.

Are you from the area? If so, would this be a good place to rent out? There are some bargains in Chicago, but you have to watch the HOAs
