I wonder why those of you who are selling or plan to,are doing so.
We sold last yr. because we thought we wanted to leave the
area, but, turned out we decided to stay. So, now we are ugrading to our final and nicer home. What were or are your reasons?
Enquiring minds want to know!
Ps. We purchased a brand new home, moving in July!

My husband and I are selling because we are moving to be closer to family. We love our house, but obviously cannot take it with us! So far, we have had very little luck selling. Seems like no one else loves our home

We also are selling to be closer to family. Love our house and if it could be moved we'd do it. Listed for 3 weeks, 4 showings.

May I add a question, please.

What happens if you are unable to sell, regardless of your reason for selling?

If we don't sell-we don't sell. We'll try again. Our reason isn't financial as we have no mortgage, no debt. Our reason was a bad decision to move here.

We had a house built in a warmer climate. My husband retired from the Philadelphia Police Department and was ready for a change from city life. So we bought with ease and selling with difficulty!

I am movingto A. Be closer to family and friends and B. For a better job. My house is on the market for the second time as I took it off the market for the winter and I am going to leave and stay with a friend and leave the house empty while it is on the market. So far 3 showings in 3 weeks. Not great but my house is very old (1796) and not for everyone although I have 22 acres with gorgeous views and everything has been updated.

I'm selling because I want to go home to TX. I can't stand the cold winters anymore. My house is off the market at the moment and will be relisted in a year or two.

The reason we are moving has nothing to do with jobs or finance so if we don't sell we don't sell, but just keep trying.

I am not trying to probe or pry for debt ratios or anything like that. My sense is, at least in my area, is that most sellers , want to move, but do not have to do so because of a job relocation or owning two homes. In other words, they are not highly motivated.

Most sellers unfortunately have to come to terms with getting their price or getting sold.
