As we prepare our Thanksgiving table, our thoughts might turn to the very first people who started the American holiday. There’s one fascinating fact you might not think about: The settlers sure knew how to build a shelter back then.

In fact, some of the homes that were built during the 1600s are still standing, and some are even on the market.

Five oldest homes are for sale in America right now, in good living condition, despite being built not too long after the first Thanksgiving in the 1600s!

Would you like to live in one of them?

That Park Hall home is fabulous!

Even a copy of the architecture built today would be a great and versatile place to live.

Love me an old house!!!!! Would live in any one of them. For fun, my husband and I tour open houses of old homes (must be built-pre 1940). Walked dozens built in the 1800s, a handful where the original part of the house was built in the 1700s...but never any built in the 1600s.

I love that old, creaky charm.
