Is our only option lowering the price so low that it has to sell and we have to give it away?
In this market, yes ... although I guess it depends on how you define give away. I'm also looking to buy a new house so, I wasn't expecting to make much on mine since I'm also looking to take advantage of these low prices.
I slashed the price to go ahead a move it. I sold without having to list it and still made about $20K on it. Right before we closed, a very similar house in the neighborhood sold for even less so ...
If you gotta move it, do what it takes to sell or ... just rent it out.
Thanks, everyone for your input! I am sure someone will come along that doesn't even notice the street if they love the house.
I'm telling you, you need to advertise the street to take away the "shock" when someone comes to see your home. If the street is that narrow, then they need to know about it ahead of time so when they do come to see the house, they will be focused on the house, not getting to it.
