dogmom, glad to hear your buyers are on the ball and doing things in a hurry. I am sure your inspection is going to go fine and hopefully you will have an early close and leave this all behind you!!!
dogmom.......I'm so glad to hear that these buyers are serious about it. Hopefully you can get out soon and be on your way to Washington!
crazyma.......Stop it!! Stop it right now!!! My husband used to smoke, but he had to get his tonsils out right before we got engaged. He had to quit for the time being, so I basically told him that I had lived with a smoker (my Dad) for 21 years, but I refused to live with one the rest of my life. If he didn't stay stopped, I would break off the engagement. Well, we will be married 34 years on Sunday. Unfortunately, my Dad passed away 10 years ago from complications of smoking etc. He had stopped when our daughter was born, but it was too late by then. I blame the fact that I have a lot of allergies on the fact that I was around it so much. My regular doc is going to do some testing on me because every once in awhile I am not able to breathe right.....feels like I can't inflate my lungs all the way. First she asked if I ever smoked and I said......No, never. Then she asked if I had ever been around people who smoked, so I had to tell her about my Dad. She says once we get the blood work back for the Lyme and deal with that then she'll look into the other.
My eye doctor wasn't in until 3pm, so I had to go back. Basically he said that if the eye gets irritated it and swells, then the membrane will stretch and once the swelling goes down, the membrane might not go down as fast. Anyway, he said he didn't see any big problems, but gave me some steroid drops to use twice a day. Plus since I changed allergy meds to Claritin-D, he said it might cause dry eyes and to use moisture drops. So....that's a load off. Thanks, guys, for the support!!
rothbear I am glad you went to the doctors and that you got the blood work done. I will pray all goes well and you will be better soon. I am glad your eyes are o.k. too. It is a load off your mind I am sure. GB and TC!

Koofie and Dogmom, and others, thanks for understanding.

Wow! I should've checked back last night, but Abby is teething... Anyway, the story of Abby's birth started after the birth of my older daughter Ari, 5 years ago. She was supposed to be born at a birth center, but after she was 1.5 weeks overdue I was scared into an induction. It sucked and I was lucky I didn't end up with a c-section. Mostly I realized how much I didn't like people around me when I was in pain, so I decided if I had any more they would be at home.
Fast forward 4 years, and I became pregnant. I "casually" talked to my husband about a homebirth. To my surprise, he was actually interested and agreed to it.
We took a Bradley class to help us deal with the pain and to allow my husband to learn what he should do for me during the birth. When I went into labor, we sent Ari to my moms and waited.
After nearly 24 hours of labor, Abby was born into the blow-up birth tub on the floor of our kitchen. We were not able to tell if she was a boy or girl on the ultrasound, so the fact that she was a she surprised us! It was nice to just have to go upstairs to bed and be comfy at home while I recovered.
Sorry it wasn't one of those emergency birth stories that show up on TV! Hey, at least you had an excuse to eat popcorn in the middle of the afternoon/before dinner.

I'm glad your eye is going to be ok, scary with the eye always....and as soon as the blood comes back then you can treat it i it is Lyme..Maybe it's not but better to check.
I was also raised with smokers until I left home at 19, then I smoked for 2 or 3 years, not a lot, so it was easy to quit. never took it up again, I don't hang with anyone who smokes amazingly so that's probably why it was easy to stay away from it.
Time will tell if my lungs go bad I guess...I was also raised in So Cal with the horrible smog they had back in the 60's and 70's so that is a double whammy I guess...
Our agent called, the inspection is tomorrow night at 6:45. They requested that we not be here, I guess that is normal except there are a few things that should be pointed out so they don't ding us. Like we have a couple light switches that do nothing...one is near the fireplace that lights with a wall switch, found out the other switch on the plate goes to a plug inside the fireplace, also a couple others that we put in for ceiling fans, when you flick them, nothing.
Have to go driving with the dogs for a couple hours...I don't have anywhere to go with them, like a friends house..we also have friends from socal coming in on they harleys on their way to sturgis for the harley thing, they are staying overnight, i dont know what time they will get here..the inspection is just happening on a bad night. Hopefully they get here in the afternoon and we can give them the scoop and maybe carl can take them for a couple of beers or something. Either that or our buyers are going to see a couple of hells angels looking guys pulling up on bikes, lol. Carl will stay until the buyers get here and let them know that Jeff and friend might come up and not to panic. Hopefully they will get here early.
I don't know why I am nervous, I just am. I need calming words!
Yes we are a mess here too, crap all over packing..I hope the buyers understand that we are packing.. I would think so..
Koofie I think that is great that you were able to have your baby at home. You have a lot of courage, I am a wimp and would have been scared to death to not be in a hospital. I can see where it would be harder for you to leave that home, but look at it this way you will have a new home to make new memories in.
Very good story and very priceless as well. Something you can share with your children and grandchildren as well. I am glad you were able to share it with us.
