We dumped our last HOA after a feminist bimbo on the board decided she didn't like us anymore and raised our dues. Paid her off in cash and told her to F!@# off and kiss my @ss. Made her cry. I wish I had a camera.

You can read the rest of the story (and see a lovely picture of his creation) either at Yahoo News or at the Associated Press (type "Redneck Stonehenge" in the search box).

In this case, it was the "upscale" neighbors who were considered to be "ruining the neighborhood" for the rest of the city. So it's all a matter of perspective.

Yeah look at Donald trump's taste...maybe some people like it and I know it cost a lotand is standing out...but it is for sure not my taste....lucky me since I couldn't afford it, and by the way the Russian guy who bought his Flroida mansion is going to build a new house and get rid off the old....just what you can do with some money.

Partially true...real heavy money can buy taste....absolutely proving the other half of your proposition.

I'm so glad I'm not upscale...would hate to have to lose my sense of humor and individuality!
Thank goodness our HOA isn't overly anal Long as the grass gets mowed and the houses aren't day glo orange or bold turquiose, our flamingos can quietly stand guard

I lived for some years in a OC CA neighborhood that had a flock of pink flamingos. Periodically in the middle of the night you lawn would be invaded by a dozen of these creatures. You were expected to put up with them for a few days and then collect them when you cut the grass. It was then your call as to when and where they reappeared. Finally a good part of the flock ended up on a roof line...an installation stunt unlikely to be repeated by mere mortals. After paying $150 to remove them the flianingos were retired.

We also have a neighboring cul-de-sac with a rather aggressive peacock. My dog walks past at all times keeping me between he and the peacock. Probably violates some ordinance but nobody asks...

Unfortunately you are right...I wish we could do without but it has been proven in this area that with a HOA the communities look better, just because some A$$ don't want to pick up their papers and mow their yards and need to be treated like their in school.
