Are there any? I want a good quality of life, i.e. low crime, fabulous schools, and affordable housing. We live in a 3600 sq ft home in Western NY with finished basement and 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. My husband wants to accept a job that will move us to CA and he would be working near Carlsbad. Are there any suburbs that have a small town feel to them? We are looking in the 600,000 price range which I know won't go far in California. We have 4 kids so schools and affordable housing are huge. A safe town is also a priority. A commute under 45 minutes to Carlsbad would also be a plus......thanks!
