If is it a Federal Pacific Panel Box then she should get it replaced. We always ask for them to be replaced out here or take a credit.
I just had the panel box done on my house a few months ago and it was $1,000. I do agree with the poster that said electricians are hurting for work also. We had it quoted two years ago and it was $1500 to get done.
When they come back with their reply, and then the daughter has a number of days to respond to that reply, can she say she is not in agreement their response (and ask them again to fix it, or provide money to fix it) or is it too late at that point?
Or is it that at that point, she has to either "accept" or "refuse" it?
I think that if a seller accepts a buyer's offer as written, the buyer can't back out w/o losing their earnest money. But if the seller counters the buyer's offer then it's up to the buyer to accept, counter, or walk away. I think.
had they not agreed to repair the items, she could have walked away and she was prepared to do so. She was asking for reasonable repairs that should have been done anyway.

There's lots of bad advice on this thread. Forget the internet forums for this one and confer with your agent.
