Our house was on the market for 2 weeks. We priced it lower than our realtor suggested (she said that was a first for her!) and much lower than the comparable active listings. We had 10 showings in that two weeks, and got our offer Friday, 2 weeks to the day. They offered full list price, and asked for a couple thousand in closing cost assistance. All told, we're selling it for about 98% of asking.

Of course, it's still a long way to the closing table, as inspections get scheduled, etc. But it's a relief to have this hurdle complete!

Congratulations! Hope the rest of the selling process proceeds smoothly. If you don't mind me asking, what area are you in? Good luck!

Congrats! What a good feeling especially when you don't know what to expect in today's market! I just hope you got a place to move everything to so quickly!

And congrats! I love hearing stories with happy endings!

Congrats! Finally a seller that has common sense and beat the curve. As many of us have stated..look at the market and the trends than price accordingly and your home will sell before the others do. It's refreshing to see someone whos head isn't in the clouds. It appears that every party is happy. Here's to a quick close!

We're thrilled. We bought it in 2000 and sold for nearly twice what we paid. I don't think we even priced it low, just that our neighbors have unrealistic expectations.

We did the unthinkable and bought our new house before selling. *gasp* We got a short sale and got an incredible deal, and had been frugal for quite some time, so we were able to float two mortgage payments indefinitely.
