How does one tell if your septix tank needs tobe pumped, how often does it need tobe pumped, and how does one tell if its failing on not. Ive been in my house for 8 years and have had it pumped 2 times and the first time i was told that it was failing???

Thank you,
septixdummy

Pump it every 2 years for normal use, every year for heavy use. Its cheap insurance. Around here its about $125.

Basically, you dont want the solids in the tank to fill up and go into the field. This will cause the field to fail. You want the solids to spend time breaking down in the tank. The solids that dont break down, need to be pumped out.
