I looked at a property recently and I saw something that seemed odd to me. It was an island kitchen where the wood floors matched the wood cabinets. I thought it was kind of weird and a potential issue for resale. Anyone else think the same?
i find it strange. . .my DH on the other hand likes it. but i'm also finding as we go thru life that he likes to match things-- almost literally --when it comes to design instead of taking features of something and expanding on it or complimenting it. that can be a source of debate in this house.

Well that sounds odd to me, but obviously someone out there thought it looked pretty, so it's really a matter of taste and there's no way to know what the taste is of that particular future-buyer that you have in mind.
I'm curious to see what it looks like, but I wouldn't worry about it. So long as it's clean and not some horrible vinyl floor, it won't likely be a problem. You can't predict what some other person will like, or not like.
Yikes, sounds weird to me, especially if it's a dark wood. Not sure how long you plan to stay in the house, but floors are easy to change. Besides, at some point, you'll have to refinish the floors and you could pick a different stain, right?
