Hey, y'all.

Our New Year's Eve: The kids and I watched TV. Saw the ball drop. I got a little choked up and tried not to cry in front of the kids. Seeing all those people kissing. I wanted my DH here to kiss me.

Got groceries on New Year's Day. (I always get groceries on Friday. Except Christmas, of course. I had to wait til Saturday then.) I'm one of those types who enjoys shopping for anything, including groceries. lol

I had a little chunk of money left over from Christmas, so I went to Target today and bought new sheets for my bed. They're pink with little pink flowers. I got some just like them for my daughter for Christmas the year before (or was it her birthday in February?) and thought they were so pretty and comfortable that I wanted some just like them.

I remember mentioning this to DH shortly after I had bought them for my daughter and I told him that I wouldn't buy them for our bed since they're pink and he probably wouldn't want to sleep on pink sheets. He said it didn't matter to him what they looked like as long as there are sheets on the bed. lol So now I've bought them and when he comes back home, he's going to sleep on pink sheets whether he likes it or not. lol

Now I just have to get the blanket that goes with the sheets. It's $100 before tax, so it may be a few weeks. :-/

Anyway, as the kids and I were riding in the car, I said a prayer in my head as I was driving. (I'm always talking to God, it seems. I'm so desperate for Him to do something.) I asked God to either bring my DH back to me or set me free of him. I'm tired of waiting, waiting, waiting. It's torture. I've been patient and faithful (to DH and God). It's time for things to turn around. Well, in my opinion anyway. I know that God often has a different timetable.

Oh, about the sheets. Besides just thinking they're pretty and comfortable, I also wanted to replace a set of sheets we bought while on vacation with DH's family. The beach house we rented that week didn't have sheets for the beds, so DH and I bought a couple sets. The one set I brought to Goodwill and the other set are red, which I liked. But since that "vacation" wasn't a good one for me (you can read about it at my blog; click on "Vacation" in my label cloud), I decided to get rid of those red sheets and replace them.

Does that make sense to y'all or am I just crazy? lol

Anyway, I've rambled enough. I reckon I'm in a talkative mood.

Niki...In with the new, out with the old! I agree with Stoy--the sheets are a step in the right direction. As for the red sheets...makes total sense. You associate those with a bad experience, so out they go!

Amen to that, out with the old, in with the new..I think that's a wonderful small step you took, Niki, new sheets for YOU. And I'm with Shelly if something makes you unhappy and has bad memories, get rid of it..why drag yourself down with stuff that reminds you of a not so great vacay..I remember reading your blog about that trip..just wasn't a good one, was it.

Been doing some reorganizing today, found a bunch of photos that need frames and I NEED to get pictures of fam and friends up on the walls, they are so bare and I don't need Carl to hang for me. If I don't like where they end up, I can always move them, lol. I have a nice collage frame but need another one, at least, and need some nice 5x7's for hanging. I have tons of pics in boxes out on the patio but will start with whats in the house and move on to the boxes, like I said I can always move them around..tired of bare walls..

got some good suggestions on my blog for tips for organizing the office. most everyone suggests I start with the closet. So, that is what I will do.

Well, I hope you are all staying warm, Lorrie, good to see you back...will chat later peeps...hugs

So Barb...any tips on winning cash at the casino on board the cruise ship!?!? I figured if I won 2 tickets to the Jerome Bettis show, maybe my luck would hold out.

Oh..for those of you who don't use FB...I won 2 tickets to the taping of the Jerome Bettis show. Jerome is an ex-steeler, #36 who happens to be my all-time favorite Steeler. The taping is on the same day that I leave on my cruise.
