I am in the process of closing on a house in Monroe, Ga, and as bad is this is going to sound, the realtor would not get us the plat to the house and told us to go to the court house to get it. That has me worried but its a 120 mile round trip from were we are at now, and its very difficult for me to make.
Is there any way possible to get it without going all the way down there?

Call them first. Ask how to best accomplish having a copy of the recorded plat map. If you must, go to the courthouse/recording division and ask to make a copy for your records. Also ask the title company or closing attorney if a survey or ILC is available and will be included in your closing documents.

Good advice! Any recorded plats are usually included in the paperwork from the title company. Here in AZ you can also access recorded documents via the Internet. Makes things very easy.

Start with the phone call to either the title company or the courthouse and see what options are available to you. I'm very surprised that your agent isn't willing to do this for you.
