Anywhere from 4% to 7%....all commission rates are negotiable

I am in AZ and we are paying 5.5% (negotiated).

As Guy indicated, commissions are negotiable. Individual agents and/or their brokerage can set their own rates for doing business, but there is not a standard rate among all agents/brokerages (that would be illegal).

The most common commission in my area is 5%, split 50-50 between the listing and selling broker. The agents split that with their respective broker.

Standard is 6%. If you beg (or are at a point where it could make/break the deal) agents will sometimes come down to 5.5%.

In my area commissions range somewhere between 5 and 6.5 percent. This amount ususally gets divided between listing and selling agent. BTW, I'm a fan of your Tennesee off grid thread.

There isn't a "standard" commission. Commission varies from brokerage to brokerage.
