would offering a bonus to the buying agent help get traffic or is it a waste of time/money?? on a $185,000 home what would a good bonus be? how do they work? how would the realtors know about it?
Depending on your location, that price home is probably entry level? First time buyer type home? If so, I would offer a seller concession to the buyer first... offer to help up to a certain dollar or % amount on closing costs and prepaids. If you have already done that, you could offer a bonus. If it were me, I would say $1,000.
How do they work? If an agent brings a buyer to your home and they buy, they get the commission amount (which they share with their broker) and any bonus is usually kept wholly by the buyers agent.
How would they know? I am assuming your home is listed by an agent? Then it would be noted in the agent only remarks to the selling agents.
Shelly---best advice....the only other thing I would do when you make a change is that you tell your agent to reduce the price also when adding the bonus that way it appears on the hotsheet for agents to notice.
