I'm in the Mpls. suburbs- I'm fairly certain those numbers are entry level housing that were snatched up during the tax credit. Bidding wars occurred on those houses. Otherwise, the housing market where I am is pretty much dead.
When do you see bottom in Chicago area? For both Highland Park and Chicago as a whole? I think it will be at least another year before we bottom price-wise.

My guess is that it is a reference to the NAR propaganda ("Now is the PERFECT time to buy... better hurry") and buyers/sellers needing to educate themselves more then ever on the market. Giesela doesn't seem to trust realtors.

A former neighbor recently relocated ( no package) to Mpls. They got killed here and claim they were getting killed in the greater Mpls area too.
They were likely buying in the $600K price point.
Same deal in the Milwaukee North Shore ( WFB, Shorewood and Fox Point) area.
