Those of you that filed THIS year to receive your credit, how long did it take between when you filed to when you received check in hand?

Or are you still waiting ... ?

I have been going back and forth with the IRS since sending amending my 2008 taxes in Nov. I received a letter yesterday stating that I should hear something in the next 30 days. I will be sure to update everyone because this has been a stressful process.

So is this delay normal for most people expecting the $8k tax credit? We filed everything correctly and they asked us for one investment document (not even related to tax credit) and we are still waiting....we need that $8k promise for the remodelling!!! They delayed our normal tax refund too, naturally and conveniently...I kind of regret filing for this...OMG

I'm not filing an amended. Closed on May 14th and have been spending money like crazy on the new home....new roof, plumbers, electricians, siding repairs, etc., etc., etc. I know financial advisors tell you not to have let the government hold on to your money, but at this rate I'd just spend it right away anyway. It will be a nice chunk to receive come next year.
