With most co-ops your payments include your hazard insurance. Your lender maybe looking for content insurance very similar to renters insurance. You need to check with the co-op that you are looking at to see if they pay for the actual hazard insurance and if so then they can provide the information to you or your lender but again your lender maybe looking for the content insurance. Is that about as clear as mud?
And when you go looking for insurance, let you fingers do the walking, ask friends and coworkers for references, and more. check prices again and again and again. It is boring, but at the end you will find huge disparities quoted. choose the one that fits your needs the most.
