I get the blueberry part, I get the crunch part and also the sugar part.
I just dont get how the cake part becomes a cake without eggs.
Just a stick of margerine sprinkled on top and no mixing.
Sounds more like a bar type thing.

I agree. And if you read the directions for most cake mixes, they also include oil & water. I guess the butter subs the oil.
It sounds heavy, and sweet ( sugar added, & from pineapple syrup & blueberries) and greasy, and yes, like a bar.

I guess Justin and his fans don't do much baking/cooking. Notice the clip is from a 2006 ABC News segment.
(I suspect we have more of a Justin fan here than a Blueberry Crunch Cake fan. LOL!)

I think the liquid part would come from the pineapple juice and the sugared blueberrys would give off some liquid..
Still there is no binding agent. Still dont explain no mixing..

It works. I've made similar recipes and they turn out very yummy, and they're so easy, too!

Try it, you'll like it!

Caligula1 and B4U,

Don't knock it til you try it.
It's actually extremely good.

I'm not a huge Justin fan- I'm a huge Tim McGraw fan!
Yes, this recipe aired on GMA in 2006. I just happen to like this recipe and thought some other people might simply enjoy it too.

No knocks here, it just goes beyond something i'm used to seeing in a cake recipe.
Sadly though I cant try it, I love Blueberrys but anymore then about 2 or three I break out in hives.
It sucks so bad because I do love them..

Sounds delicious! I think I might even add a bit of lemon zest to the recipe!

I concur. I have a recipe using cake mix, can of cherry pie filling, slivered almonds and a stick of butter. There are no eggs in it and it makes a great 9 x 13 type of cake.....very easy... So, anyway, I can see this blueberry recipe working out aok...there is a lot of water/juice in blueberries...

I'm sorry to hear that you can't eat many blueberries.

I haven't tried it with raspberries- but I would think it would work with raspberries also.
