Finally broke down and got a blender, due to a killer sale. I'd been avoiding it, because I have precious little counter space, and didn't want to have to find a storage spot for yet another appliance, but the pricing was too good to pass up, plus, I was sick of having to sidestep recipes I wanna make due to lack of a blender.

So, I'm looking for awesome smoothie recipes. Yes, I know I can search allrecipes, etc., and have, but was wanting some tried and tested ideas from all of you.

Particularly interested in green smoothies.

Well it's not green but I start off with a base of yogurt, ice and a splash of OJ.
To that I pretty much add any soft type fruit I happin to have on hand.
I recently did a watermellon and cantulope smoothie that was so refreshing and Ohhh so good...

Just remember some fruits like pineapple and Bananna are very overpowering and the flavor tends to take over..

I test ran it this a.m. Had some peaches that are at the peak of freshness, pretty much need to be used up today. So I cut a couple up, sliced 4-5 strawberries, and blended that with a few dollops of plain yogurt and some ice cubes. Pretty tasty. My bananas were pretty green, or I'd have tossed that in, too.

I just got a Magic Bullet from Target and it has been one of the better investments I've made for my diet.

Whole living has a slew of smoothie recipes. Here's a green one:

Green Machine Smoothie - Whole Living Eat Well

6 romaine leaves, chopped
4 kale leaves, chopped
1/2 cup fresh parsley sprigs
1/2 cup chopped pineapple
1/2 cup chopped mango
1 inch fresh ginger, peeled and chopped

Directions
Combine romaine, kale, parsley, pineapple, mango, ginger, and 1 1/2 cups water in a blender and blend until smooth.
